Second day of the 49er and 49er FX Test Event is a wrap!

The second day of the Test Event for the 49er and 49er FX classes is behind us! Although the wind left much to be desired, sailors were treated to sunshine today. Both classes completed a full set of races.
Gdynia shows its potential.

During the first half of the day, the race committee decided to adjust the course in search of stronger wind, but later the conditions turned ideal. The wind stabilized from the north and Gdynia showed its true potential. Sunshine and a steady 11-knot breeze were a perfect way to end the day.

- Crazy things were happening on the water. Sometimes the left side worked, sometimes the right, and sometimes the middle. You had to keep looking around and searching for stronger gusts. Today we managed to read the conditions quite well, and we’re very happy with that - said Hanna Rajchert, a member of the Polish Sailing Association National Team.

In the 49er class, the leading crew is from Spain—Antonio Torrado Martinez and Conrad Konitzer. In second place are the Polish team of Mikołaj Staniul and Jakub Sztorch. Third place currently belongs to sailors from Hong Kong—Akira Sakai and Russel Aylsworth.

In the 49er FX class, the Polish crew of Gabriela Czapska and Hanna Rajchert hold the top position. Just two points behind them are the French team of Mathilde Lovadina and Lou Berthomieu. The top three is rounded out by another French team—Lara Granier and Amelie Riou.
